It's reflected in our focus on the people we serve, the way we treat each other and the results we achieve together as a company.Astellas is announcing an Associate Director, Commercial Communications in Northbrook, IL.Purpose & Scope:Commercial Communications in Commercial Strategy & Planning (CS&P) is communications subject matter expert and has responsibility in employee engagement Communications with emphasis on change communications in assist of CCO and global commercial teams. This position will report to Head of Commercial Strategy & Planning.Essential Job Responsibilities:This position will be responsible for below areas, under the direction by Head of Commercial Strategy and Planning.* Develop and implement employee engagement communications strategies and programs that support Astellas' commercial businesses and promote new ways of working.* In collaboration with CS&P members, employ measurement strategy to evaluate and address communications effectiveness.* Ensures internal communications' consistency and effectiveness in close collaboration with communications stakeholders in Astellas.* Develop and implement employee communications plans, and programs and draft messages for CCO to communicate its LT and employees globally.* Develop and promote change communications plans and programs for global commercial functions (SBM, MAx and CS&C).* Builds relationships with colleagues throughout commercial organizations to initiate stories and find news throughout the organization to share.* Develop and manage communications deliverables, such as key messages, core deck, Q&A etc. for global commercial teams.* Manage and maintain global commercial intranet site (and integrated SharePoint site for global commercial functions) as a tool to enhance employee engagement and good collaboration.* Manages creative tools and materials (Photo, video, written assets) to ensure consistent look and feel of Astellas brand internally to employees* Produces speeches and presentations for internal special events or company-wide announcements (working in partnership with other CS&P members)* Builds and maintains strong working relationships with corporate, regional and functional communications professionals.Quantitative Dimensions:This position will be leading employee engagement from global commercial organization perspectives, directly supporting CCO and leaders in global commercial functions. This position will select and oversee vendors.Organizational Context:* Reports to Head of Commercial Strategy & Planning* Peer group: Communication members in corporate, commercial divisions and M&D; Members in SBM, MAx and CS&C; Strategic planning members in commercial divisions.Qualifications:Required* BS or BA Degree or Equivalent in journalism communications or related field is required.* Requires a minimum of 8 years of corporate communications or relevant agency experience* Prior management of corporate intranet site including vision/content/planning/organization* Experience managing and/or using a wide array of internal communications tools* Experience in change management* Strategic planning and writing skills necessary, including executive speech writing* Experience providing effective strategic counsel to senior management* Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills* Experience in working in a multi-cultural and/or international work environment* Ability to be a flexible team player with the highest ethical and business standards* Experience leading people and building strong working relationships across organizations* Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills* Demonstrated ability to manage budget programs and multiple agencies* Able to handle multiple priorities, establishing and maintaining effective and efficient channels of communication with new media and opinion leaders* Able to develop a proactive approach to maintain effective, current, and relevant communication plansPreferred* Experience in communications with a pharmaceutical company#LI-DMEqual Opportunity Employer Minorities/Women/Protected Veterans/DisabledCategory Commercial Operations
