    About the Group:

    The Risk Governance function within the Chief Operating Office of Independent Risk Management is responsible for the design and implementation of firm-wide frameworks and practices that are integral and fundamental to Risk Management within Citi. These include, but are not limited to, the firm's risk appetite and risk governance frameworks; the new and modified product approval framework; risk policy; risk governance committees; risk controls and issue management; and risk budget management.

    About the Team:

    As part of this function, the Risk Frameworks team within Risk Governance is responsible for to designing and driving enhancements to and facilitating the execution of the firm's core risk management frameworks to strengthen the firm's risk management capabilities. This includes managing the firm's risk governance framework, risk appetite frameworks and risk policy program to support a clear and consistent articulation of the firm's risk appetite, appropriate capture of material risks facing the firm and integration of both with the firm's day-to-day risk management practices to ensure those risks are managed, monitored and controlled.

    About the Role:

    The current opening is for a Senior Vice President candidate to support the firm's risk governance framework and related governance mechanisms. The responsibilities of the role are significant contributors to the success of the broader team's mandate to deliver best-in-class risk governance programs and processes.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Deliver the end-to-end design, update, review and challenge of the firm's risk governance framework, including deepening internal networks with senior management to ensure robust and relevant content and stakeholder participation

    • Lead the gathering and deployment of expert knowledge of the evolving regulatory and industry operating environment to inform the design of governance mechanisms to account for their potential impact

    • Design and support the adoption of firm-wide risk governance standards by all the lines of defense, across businesses/functions, countries and legal entities and act as the subject matter expert on risk governance framework-related activities

    • Coordinate and work with senior management and team leads to cascade firm-wide risk governance principles and standards into underlying policies and processes

    • Coordinate and support assessing the implementation of the firm's risk governance framework across the lines of defense

    • Lead and support regulatory and audit reviews at various levels

Finally, they will be able to deploy their firm-wide perspective across Citi businesses and risk types to impact the firm's core business and risk management practices.


    • 10+ years of experience in the financial services industry, preferably in a role that requires superior critical thinking, problem solving and excellent oral / written communication skills (e.g., consulting, regulatory)

    • Bachelors or Advanced degree(s) with an analytical focus (e.g., finance, business administration, organizational design, etc.)

    • Proven experience in driving own book of work and delivering against firm-wide, cross-risk initiatives

    • Understanding of the full taxonomy of risks and of Citi's businesses and products

    • Adept at building relationships with key stakeholders and influencing, negotiating and developing consensus to drive change

    • Good working knowledge of regulatory expectations and industry best practices in risk governance and related areas
