Accounting Assistant

Description

Robert Half is looking for a dedicated Accounting Assistant in Findlay Ohio to assist our client int he Construction Industry! This is a contract to hire opportunity at a family-owned company that is looking to add to their team! This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their career in accounting!

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Processing

• Handle in-house payroll processing using Sage software.

• Manage labor coding for payroll with numerous cost codes.

• Reconcile timesheets to ensure hours balance before inputting data into Sage.

• Manage garnishments and deductions

Accounts Payable (AP):

• Process a high volume of AP transactions

• Handle payments to a large number of vendors.

• Conduct weekly check runs, preparing and processing

• Ensure all invoices are coded correctly and approvals are obtained before processing.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in payroll processing, preferably with experience using Sage software.

• Strong understanding of payroll principles, including garnishments and deductions.

• Experience with high-volume AP processing.

• Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

• Excellent attention to detail and ability to reconcile data accurately.

• Strong organizational and time management skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the construction or related industry.

• Familiarity with cost coding and labor coding for payroll.

Requirements

• Proficiency in using Accounting Software Systems

• Strong skills in using Microsoft Excel

• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suites

• Familiarity with general Accounting Functions

• Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP)

• Experience in managing Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Familiarity with Billing Functions

• Experience in managing Cash Activity.
