    The Sociology Department at Siena College invites applications for a one-semester, renewable, adjunct instructor position, beginning Fall 2024. The candidate hired will be expected to teach introductory sociological courses to undergraduate students. Potential courses to be taught include The Sociological Perspective and Global Social Problems. This is an in-person campus position.

    Salary $1,287.50 per contact hour.

    The hiring salary above represents the College's good faith estimate at the time of posting in compliance with the Albany County Salary Transparency Law.

    Job Requirements:

    Successful candidates should have a Master's degree or higher in Sociology or a closely related field. Preference will be given to candidates who have an ABD or PhD in Sociology, previous teaching experience, and willingness to be flexible in class scheduling.

    The Department of Sociology at Siena College has the following learning goals: (1) Students will apply sociological theories to understand global societies. (2) Students will gain an understanding of sociological research methodologies. (3) Students will use sociological perspectives to critically analyze issues of diversity within global institutions.

    A background screening will be required.
