Associate Attorney

Description

Join a prestigious IP litigation firm as their newest talented associate attorney. This is a chance for a new attorney to join an established IP litigation firm in the Beach Cities! The firm handles IP litigation involving trademarks, design patents, and copyright issues.

Initially, this associate will be heavily focused on discovery, law and motion, and working on pleadings. This attorney will start out working closely with two senior associates before being trained and taking on more of their own caseload.

Responsibilities of Role

• Working as junior associate for the two associates, this attorney will be assigned project-based work.

• All aspects of discovery: going over discovery requests prepared by paralegal/intern, doing discovery responses with client communication, gathering documents, doing research for MSJs.

• Drafting discovery motions, oppositions to MSJs, etc.

• The principal is big on sending junior attorneys into hearings like CMCs and even arguing motions so this person gets experience.

• The associates typically cover depositions, this junior associate can get early experience with depositions in smaller value cases.

• Meeting and conferring with opposing counsel, rule 26 conferences.

Compensation

• Salary range

• 90-115k

• Bonuses

• Performance-based

• Medical, dental, are covered 100% for the employee and kick in XXX after employment.

• 2 weeks PTO

• Profit share kicks in after 1 year.

Requirements

• Licensed in CA with a JD from an ABA accredited law school.

• At least 1 year of experience in civil litigation.

• Commutable to Manhattan Beach as this is a fully onsite role.

• Strong writing and a desire to grow this skill because this attorney will work on novel, non-templated issues.
