Associate

Description We are in search of an Associate Attorney to join our team in O'Fallon, Illinois. This role involves managing litigation caseloads, handling local and national accounts, conducting depositions, and preparing court filings. Furthermore, the successful candidate will be responsible for trial preparation and support, maintaining accurate time records, and working independently in an organized and efficient manner.

Responsibilities

• Handle local and national accounts throughout the state of Illinois, Missouri, and New York

• Independently manage a litigation caseload across diverse areas such as toxic tort, complex product liability, local government, general liability, and commercial litigation

• Conduct depositions and prepare witnesses for deposition and trial

• Review and analyze discovery requests

• Prepare and respond to discovery responses and pleadings

• Prepare court filings and ensure service to counsel; experience with e-filing is beneficial

• Trial preparation and support, including taking the lead in plaintiff and expert depositions

• Maintain accurate time records and work in an organized and efficient manner

Skills

• Proficiency in Billing Software for Attorneys and Legal Billing

• Experience in Defense Litigation, Asbestos Litigation, and Litigation - Defense

• Ability to prepare Pleadings and Legal Pleadings, and Draft Pleadings

• Experience in Court Appearances and Civil Court

• Superior research and writing skills

• Ability to multi-task and analyze complex matters. Requirements - Role requires proficiency in Billing Software for Attorneys and Legal Billing software

• Must have substantial experience in Defense Litigation and Asbestos Litigation

• Should be adept at preparing and drafting legal pleadings

• Must be able to handle court appearances, specifically in a civil court context

• Experience in depositions is necessary

• Familiarity with litigation, particularly defense litigation, is required

• Applicants should be capable of preparing pleadings and drafting legal pleadings

• The position requires an associate who can make regular court appearances.
