    FUNCTION

    Project Management and Systems

    A team that provides a broad spectrum of services and tools to WestRock, Corrugated/Consumer Mills and the Engineering and Manufacturing Services team. We focus on:

    • Strategic capital development process, evaluation, and analytics

    • M&A / strategic initiatives project support

    • Project cost & schedule services

    • Management and administration of the Project Authorization Systems (PAS) and capital process

    • Development, administration and improvement of processes, systems, and tools

    • Facilitation of the connection to key stakeholders (Finance, Accounting, IT, Procurement, Legal, etc.)

    KEY SUPPORT AREA

    Systems and Analytics

    The Systems and Analytics team is focused on the administration and development of new and existing processes and tools to continuously improve the EMS team's efficiency, capability, and analytics. The team acts as the product owners, administrators, and process facilitators for the Project Authorization System (PAS), utilized for all Capital and Productivity project creation, authorization and forecasting. We play an integral role supporting key business initiatives and goals providing the team high visibility across the business and the opportunity to learn, collaborate and drive positive change towards growth.

    Job Summary

    As a Business Systems Analyst in the Engineering & Manufacturing Services group, on the Business Systems and Analytics team you will be responsible for performing complex professional business analysis and application development related duties. You will be coordinating and managing multiple projects that are moderate to large size in scope, requiring facilitation across multiple departments/divisions and providing clear direction to technical team members for successful execution of projects. You must be a pioneer for process improvement and change management, influencing others to work together in alignment with the organization's goals. This position requires the individual to be self-motivated and comfortable talking with various levels of leadership within the organization. Experience with process ownership, data aggregation and validation, optimization of systems, and working in a team environment will be key to success.

    Role Responsibilities

    • Process Improvement:

    • Develop a deep understanding of WestRock Capital and Productivity tracking processes.

    • Analyze our current business processes and systems and conduct research to identify areas of opportunity.

    • Maintain a positive attitude and focus on finding solutions.

    • Project Management:

    • Clearly define project scope and schedule for execution.

    • Work with your team to identify underlying causes of roadblocks and determine the best course of action to address it, including escalating to proper leadership team members, as necessary.

    • Advocate for and communicate appropriately to your project team to meet shared goals and objectives.

    • Product Ownership:

    • Lead business requirement gathering through regular conversations with cross functional teams (Mill Engineering, Supply chain, IT, Finance, Safety/Environmental, etc.) to understand current processes and create recommendations for optimization.

    • Act as a liaison between our customers and our technical teams with a heavy emphasis on our end users' experience.

    • Product Development:

    • Utilize team tools (Qlik, Alteryx, PowerApps, APEX, SQL, SharePoint) to implement process improvement and data visualizations.

    • Work with large data sets to gain insights and optimize data aggregation.

    • Remain agile and open to feedback on solutions implemented and quickly adapt methods and recommendations in real time.

    • Customer Service (internal):

    • Build relationships with our customers to foster trust and integrity by responding to inquiries in a timely manner and with accurate information.

    • Be empathetic by actively listening and acknowledging customer concerns while being proactive to anticipate customer needs and offering solutions before they ask.

    • Remain flexible, offering creative solutions to unique problems and willingness to adapt to changing business circumstances.

    Skills and qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or other related fields

    • 3+ years of process improvement or systems implementation experience

    • Lean, Six Sigma Experience or Certification

    • Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects from inception through completion

    • Advanced knowledge of SQL, Excel, SharePoint, PowerApps, Power Automate

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities & detail oriented

    • Understanding of general manufacturing business concepts

    • High energy self-starter; must be flexible and able to take on an initiative with minimal guidance and be comfortable working both as an individual and as part of a team
