Controller

Description We are looking to bring on board a Controller for our operations based in Katy, Texas. This role is essential to managing our accounting operations, ensuring the integrity of financial data, overseeing cost accounting methodologies, developing internal controls, leading our accounting team, and contributing to financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll

• Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data through thorough reconciliations, journal entries, and account analysis

• Supervise the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all closing activities

• Review and reconcile balance sheet accounts, including bank reconciliations, accruals, and prepaids

• Oversee cost accounting methodologies to accurately track and analyze manufacturing costs

• Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal control procedures to safeguard company assets

• Carry out periodic audits and reviews of financial processes and procedures to identify weaknesses and areas for improvement

• Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate audits and address audit findings in a timely manner

• Lead and develop a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and mentorship to support their growth and development

• Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

• Review and analyze financial data to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial statements

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports Requirements

• Proven experience in a Controller role for at least 15 years.

• 5+ years experience in manufacturing

• Solid understanding of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning, and ERP Solutions.

• Comprehensive knowledge of Accounting Functions.

• Ability to manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).

• Experience in Auditing.

• Familiarity with Annual Physical Inventory and Inventory Accounting.

• Strong skills in Inventory Analysis.

• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.

• Understanding of Manufacturing Cost Accounting and general Manufacturing processes.

• Ability to develop and implement Policies & Procedures.

• Strong communication and leadership skills.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.

• Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA, CGA or CA) would be advantageous.

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities.

• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in a team.
