Credit and Collections Specialist

Description We are searching for a meticulous and experienced Collections Specialist to join our team in the Wholesale Distribution industry. The role is situated in MORTON GROVE, Illinois, and presents a contract to hire employment opportunity. The selected candidate will be tasked with managing credit and collection processes, maintaining customer credit limits, and handling month-end AR reporting.

Responsibilities

• Follow-up with clients to ensure prompt payment and resolve any payment issues

• Accurately enter, update, and retrieve information for credit applications

• Regularly review and monitor the credit limits of customers, and assign credit limits as necessary

• Conduct customer account balance clean up and ensure all data is up to date

• Assist the Treasury team with comments on the company's outstanding AR

• Address Credit Card Chargebacks in a timely manner and submit complete documentation

• Contribute to AR month-end reporting and related balance sheet reconciliations

• Establish and conduct proactive analysis of business trends and develop relevant AR metrics

• Use Accounting Software Systems and Microsoft Excel to manage billing functions and collection processes

• Deliver excellent customer service while handling credit-related inquiries and issues.

This is a contract to hire position, and we are looking for someone with solid experience in business-to-business credit and collections. The ideal candidate should have an ability to work independently, strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and should be a team player. Requirements - Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Experience with Accurint

• Familiarity with Great Plains (GPAC)

• Knowledge of IBM AS/400

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel

• Ability to perform Billing Functions

• Understanding of Collection Processes

• Previous experience as a Collector

• Knowledge of Credit processes

• Excellent Customer Service abilities
