Overview

M Health Fairview is looking for Custodians at our Fairview UMMC - East Bank location, in Minneapolis, MN . This position will perform cleaning duties as assigned to keep the facility orderly, attractive, clean and sanitary.

Location : UMMC East Bank, located in Minneapolis

Hours : 32 hours biweekly

Schedule : evening shift

Tue: 4:00pm - 12:30am

Sat 4:00pm - 12:30am

Sun: 4:00pm - 12:30am

Week 2:

Wed: 4:00pm - 12:30am

Responsibilities Job Description

• Maintains knowledge of, and follows all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards.

• Actively participates in crafting, and implementing improvements, to achieve clinical happiness, and efficiency outcomes.

• Cleans all occupied rooms on a daily basis, to provide a clean and sanitary environment to the patients.

• Prepares discharge units and/or surgical procedure, and completes end of day cleaning in surgical procedures room, to provide a clean sanitary environment to the patients.

• Maintains and clean areas including: maintaining of hard surface and carpeted flooring, cleans offices and public areas, collects and disposes of refuse.

• Cleans up after emergency spills and breakages, to prevent exposure to substances that could be safety hazards.

• Maintains and performs special work assignments, and reports to supervisor upon completion, to align with quality and frequency standards, in department policy and procedure manual.

• Understands the security requirements of medications and IV solutions.

• Restocks paper supplies upon daily cleaning of area, to ensure they are adequately filled, and maintains linen distribution system, to provide user areas with adequate amounts of linen, to give patient care.

• Mixes, uses supplies, and maintains equipment, to aid in cost containment and safety.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred

• Healthcare cleaning experience preferred

• Knowledge of and ability to use all housekeeping machinery

Desired Skills:

• Understands the security requirements of medications, and IV solutions

• Demonstrates ability to read, write, and speak English.

• Performs basic math skills, as vital for completion of job duties.

• Attention to detail

• Ability to operate cleaning equipment

• Has familiarity with cleaning products, chemicals, and safety procedures.

• Ability to use a computer and applications that are associated with performing basic work tasks. Navigating Microsoft Windows, Outlook, etc).

• Interpersonal Communication - skilled in developing effective rapport with customers, co-workers, or families.

• Effectively listening to develop a positive connection.
