    • Team spread across the country - 6 engineers, 3 engineers in India

    Can you tell me about this position and the day-to-day activities?

    • SRE experience is a need

    • Strong emphasis on airflow

    • Working with GCP - knowing how to use the internal systems o Provisions with IaC w/ terraform

    • Familiar with other technologies within GCP - data flow, networking, big query, big table, etc.

    • Written helm charts from scratch (not just used existing ones) o Worked with Airflow or Cloud Composer is a huge plus - (knowing how to manage as well)

    • Monitoring experience (grafana/prometheus/alertmanager)

    • GKE - mandatory - Google Kubernetes Engine

    • Not looking for a coder - but will occasionally code (Go, Python, Java) - supporting delivery teams, some automations, etc. (nice to have)

    Notes:

    • SRE position

    • Engineer with prior SRE/Monitoring experience is acceptable o Have experience with standard technologies - GCP (GKE experience is preferred)

    • Experience with Helm is mandatory - Written their own Helm charts o Standard SRE type skills

    • Monitoring, independence and being able to go ahead and take a ticket and address it, but also note if there is something wrong and potentially create more tickets and discuss with team

    Nice to haves:

    • Coding (helps with the correct philosophy (not scripting, Java, Go ,JS, Python, etc.)), Airflow experience is a huge plus, having a general SRE principles, GCP, Cloud migration/engineering.

    • Open to candidates from different backgrounds - as long as they have the right technical skills and soft skills GCP experience - years is not a factor as long as there is a confidence and good knowledge (most FTEs have 4-5 years' experience, but does not want to disqualify less years, especially if a candidate came from a stand up.)

    • Years of experience is not necessarily relevant as long as they are up to date on the technologies and software's

    Non-Negotiables:

    • First: Airflow . Next: GKE (google) , terraform, Helm, (monitoring) grafana/prometheus/alertmanager

    • Then: GCP, SRE principles, Cloud migration/engineering, (coding) Java, Go ,JS, python, Kubernetes - K8S, Concourse, BigTable,, Dataflow, AWS, docker o **Monitoring and SRE go hand in hand

    Qualifications:

    Required:

    • Primarily GCP experience, but has worked in AWS (more than just spinning up an vm)

    • GKE & EKS

    • Terraform

    • Airflow

    • Authored helm charts from scratch

    • Docker experience

    • Understands differences between GCP & AWS IAM/Networking

    Nice to have:

    • Dataflow, BigTable, BQ

    • Database experience

    Responsibilities:

    • The DevOps Engineer Contractor position will be an eager contributor to the E! Interactive Technology department. In this role he/she will learn about how the E! Digital business works and how the applications and systems that are maintained contribute to the overall support of both the linear TV network as well as the publishing news desk.

    • The position will report into our DevOps Lead and will be in charge of supporting our current day-to-day infrastructure needs.

    • In addition to monitoring our current application ecosystem, the role will work to optimize monitoring, enhancing our current Build/Deployment strategies, and automate infrastructure in the cloud.

    • He/she will also work closely software development team members to understand the needs of our applications.

    • This understanding will allow the software development team to be confident in the downstream code delivery practices created/managed by DevOps.

    • The DevOps Engineer will help manage and monitor EC2, containers, and serverless workflows that are incorporated currently as well as suggest new cloud first design, auto-scaling approaches & orchestration tools.

    • The DevOps engineer will have to understand and manage different AWS Virtual Private Clouds and understand both DNS, security permissions, and the Linux operating systems.

    • The candidate will need to operate within a ticketing system, Atlassian's JIRA, where tickets will be tracked for comments, completion, and documentation.

    • The candidate is also expected to keep/create diagrams (infrastructure, workflow, configuration) on confluence/wiki documents up-to-date with current state of our ecosystem.
