  • Description:

    This position is for a Panel Builder or Machine Builder in a job shop environment where products and systems will be custom, made to customer order. Candidates will be responsible for complete final assembly, both electrical and mechanical. They will be required to read and interpret blueprints along with schematics, gather appropriate materials and perform assembly of system to completion.

    Employees will be running wires, bending conduit, terminating wires, installing switches, installing motors, installing PLC's, mounting cabinets and other components for the equipment along with any other parts required for the overall system.

    • Assemble and wire industrial control boiler panels.

    • Assemble and wire control cabinet Boiler panels and wire entire boiler machine/ system and will provide electrical support for debugging operations on boilers.

    • Interpret schematics, bill of materials, drawings and manufacturer guidelines to achieve the desired results.

    • Layout and assemble electrical components to control cabinet panels.

    • Wire all electrical components on machinery.

    Responsibilities include

    • Candidate will be responsible for full panel build including installing servos, switches, VFD (variable frequency drives), PLC and so on

    • Candidate will be responsible for cutting the board to length on panel box to fit into metal cabinet

    • Candidate will utilize drills, saws, disc cutters, knock outs, and manual or automatic tube benders

    • Candidate will bend conduit up to 1 1/4 inch for wiring protection

    • Candidate will be responsible for reading electrical schematics and blueprints

    • Candidate will be responsible for building metal cabinet for the panel and knock out the correct holes for wiring to attach to mechanical assemblies

    • Candidate will be responsible for not just wiring panel but also the servos on the mechanical assembly and test mechanical movement

    • If panel area is slow candidate must be able to help out other departments such as painting, welding, shipping, assembly and more.

    Job Requirements

    • 2-3 years' experience as an Panel Builder, Electrical Panel Builder, Electrical Technician or similar role

    • Experience with reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics

    • Ability to terminate wires and perform detailed wiring on equipment, more than just a standard commercial electrician

    • Experience with PLC, 480v, electrical motors and other similar equipment

    Additional Skills & Qualifications:

    • Minimum 3 to 5 years' experience wiring boiler machinery or equivalent experience.

    • High School Diploma or GED is required.

    • Light PLC programming or troubleshooting is highly preferred, but not required.

    • Must have strong troubleshooting, communication and critical thinking skills.
