  • Seeking a strong Engineer to join our Motorized Products Division in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin!!

    Under general supervision, the person in this position will work closely with the shop, product engineering, service, and management to make sure that shop and product issues are resolved with a high sense of urgency. This is a hybrid design engineering and manufacturing engineering role. Must have a high level of accountability to commitments while maintaining strong attention to safety, product and design quality, cost and schedule. This person will be working from the Fond Du Lac location.

    Essential Functions of the Job:

    • "Hands-on" to resolve problems encountered in the fabrication, machining assembly and testing of products and / or components by working closely with the shop, purchasing, and the product design team.

    • Become the first line of contact for the shop personnel and shop leader for drawing and design issues to ensure that issues are resolved quickly.

    • Work closely with the Service Team to resolve field service issues.

    • Make drawing revisions and work with Purchasing and Operations to ensure that proper disposition is made to suspected parts in inventory or in WIP.

    • When necessary, work with sales to release new drawings to the system. This includes adding the BOM in JDE.

    • Participate in design reviews with the product development team to make sure that due diligence is given to DFM and DFA.

    • Work on process improvements to increase throughput in the shop.

    • Support the organization vision to reduce product issues, warranty liabilities, and shop rework by working closely with other departments (operations, materials, service and sales) and suppliers.

    • Effectively communicate on a technical and non-technical level with members of other departments, suppliers and/or customers.

    • Ensure compliance with Wausau engineering processes and ISO requirements.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's):

    • Knowledgeable in product design methodologies; CAD product architecture, system level designs, DFM/DFA, DFMEA, risk mitigations, COGS to product safety.

    • Good experience and troubleshooting skills working with hydraulic systems.

    • Some electrical troubleshooting skills.

    • General understanding of fabrication, machining and welding processes.

    • High degree of accountability to commitments and to the business objectives.

    • Ability to communicate both written and orally with all levels of internal and external customers. Must have excellent interpersonal skills.

    • Able to anticipate issues by understand the risks, and risk mitigation.

    • Proficiency in SolidWorks to develop and maintain 3D models and to create and update drawings

    • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).

    • Perform all job functions in a safe manner and maintain safety awareness.

    • Basic understanding of ERP and/or MRP systems.

    • Able to prioritize the Team's success over personal gain.

    • Must be able to maintain a good driving record and be able to become an authorized driver for the company.

    • Ability to travel up to 10%; primarily domestically.

    Education and Experience:

    • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.

    • A minimum of five years engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.

    • Experience working with mobile equipment.

    • Experience in snow removal, construction or agricultural equipment industries and hydraulics is a plus.
