    Job Description:

    Performs a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electro-mechanical, research or machine operations. Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests and maintains equipment, components, devices or systems.

    Essential Functions:

    • Performs a variety of complex technical functions related to the support of development engineering activities such as fabrication, set up, operation, maintenance, modification, testing, calibration and troubleshooting of systems, experiments, prototypes or equipment to meet requirements.

    • Develops or evaluates test procedures and requirements, determines circuit requirements and develops diagnostics and applications software.

    • Generates rough sketches and engineering drawings and special techniques for control and implementation of research experiments.

    • Participates in design modifications in the development of experimental circuitry, systems or prototype models.

    • Recommend changes or modifications to improve the operation of equipment.

    • Writes or interprets specifications used in designing, maintaining and calibrating electronics systems, chassis or components.

    • Prepares reports, charts and graphs for scientific or engineering personnel to use in making decisions on design or experiment development.

    • Interfaces with customers and vendors and coordinates with various engineering and fabrication departments.

    • Assists in preparation of instructional guides for repairing, calibrating and maintaining equipment and systems.

    • Recognizes, follows and enforces safety practices and performs safety inspections.

    • May lead lower level technicians.

    • This position requires some travel to customer sites and to vendor sites.

    • Performs material inventory activities and kitting.

    Qualifications:

    • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. Equivalent experience may substitute for education.

    • Experience with high current high voltage pulse power engineering and basic electronic/mechanical theory.

    • Experience with blueprints, drawings or schematics.

    • Experience with basic hand tools, test equipment, electronic instruments and assembly techniques.

    • Application of arithmetic including arithmetic functions with fractions and converting linear units of measure.

    In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $70,000-$130,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3Harris also offers a variety of benefits, including relocation stipend, 401(k), EAP, and company-paid holidays. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
