    Job Summary

    Black & Veatch has an exciting opportunity for a mid to senior level Engineer interested in Facility Assessment and Asset Management.     As part of our national Digital and Asset Lifecycle Team, this position will be responsible for supporting the inspection and evaluation of facility assessment data to provide asset management and performance optimization support to a wide variety of utility and engineering projects.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Responsible for safely planning and managing field-based asset inspection and performance evaluations of water, wastewater, and stormwater vertical and buried infrastructure.

    • Has familiarity with current and future non-destructive assessment and condition monitoring activities and trends.

    • Undertakes the coordination and logistical support to multi-disciplinary teams, including solving field work related logistical challenges.

    • Manages the structuring, storage and utilization of diverse data and asset information.

    • Provides input on assessment data interpretation including ability to clearly communicate observations and produce results in a professional quality report document.

    • Assists in or oversees the development of rehabilitation alternatives and designs.

    • Coordinates closely with associated Asset Management, Design and Safety teams.

    • Understands available pipeline inspection techniques and rehabilitation options.

    • Assists with the execution of Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) programs for client organizations.

    • Development of maintenance plans for existing and future equipment vertical and linear assets.

    • Works with project team to prepare proposals, technical papers, presentations, reports, and implementation plans; and to develop detailed project deliverables.

    • Performs additional tasks specific in area of expertise.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or related Engineering discipline.

    • 5 - 7 years of water and/or wastewater facilities and/or buried infrastructure experience.

    • Knowledge of assessment for water and wastewater facilities, in areas such as:planning and management of field inspections, selection and deployment of inspection technologies, interpretation of field data, and rehabilitation/replacement recommendations and technologies

    • Awareness of internal and external assessment technologies and non-destructive testing techniques for vertical facilities and linear piping systems.

    • Experience managing consultant field staff.

    • Experience coordinating with client operations and engineering staff to plan and execute field work data collection.

    • Knowledge of facility and/or pipeline design.

    • Maintains a high regard for overall field work safety.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing. Minimum of 8 years related work experience. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
