    Human Resources Generalist

    The HR Generalist, focusing on the full range of HR responsibilities, will work in union environments, report to the HR Director, and provide comprehensive generalist support to business units across multiple states and locations.

    1. The role demands a highly skilled generalist with a strong orientation towards results, excellent collaboration skills, customer service, and the ability to multitask.

    2. The HR Generalist will support all human resources facets, with an emphasis on employee data, job descriptions, performance management, and the employee leave process (STD/LTD, FMLA), in collaboration with Compensation, Recruiting, Payroll, and Safety departments.

    3. Experience in business partnerships is crucial for this position's success.

    4. The individual will enter data from various sources to maintain and update different databases and spreadsheets, ensuring data integrity by verifying inputs and calculations.

    5. They will create, run, and distribute both standard and customized periodic reports to communicate follow-up requirements and summarize information.

    6. The Generalist will collaborate with a team to develop and maintain standard templates, descriptions, and presentation sections to enhance efficiency and reduce turnaround times.

    7. They will manage the inventory of departmental office supplies, prepare purchase requests for these items, and coordinate with the purchasing department.

    8. The role includes occasionally scheduling and maintaining a calendar of meetings, coordinating associated arrangements, and planning and organizing on-site and offsite conferences, meetings, and special events, ensuring accurate and timely communication to all parties involved. Advanced PC skills with proficiency in spreadsheets and presentations are required. Proficiency with Google Suite is an advantage. The candidate should have extensive knowledge of state and federal regulations and procedures, a solid understanding of labor law, organizational development, and HRIS systems, with a preference for PeopleSoft expertise.
