    HVDC Building QA Inspector

    Job Description

    The HVDC Building QA Inspector will provide Quality Assurance oversight and support to help ensure EPC Contractor(s) activities are executed in compliance with the project's specifications, quality plan and requirements. The Building QA Inspector will conduct all the Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, Fire Alarm, Fire Fighting and ELV systems. The Inspector will report to the Quality Representative Manager, Construction Site Manager and assist the Owner's representatives, as needed.The candidate selected for this position may work remotely full-time at a location other than a POWER-designated office/job site. Employees may travel to a POWER office for periodic meetings.

    Responsibilities

    • Represent the organization with composure and professional candor.

    • Read and ensure full understanding of Project Related Documents which may include but not limited to the following: Scope of Work, Technical Specifications, Quality Plans, Safety and Environmental Plan.

    • Ensure all Contractor's Quality Assurance and confirm EPC Contractor's quality control documentation is properly maintained onsite and available on Owner's document control platform.

    • Conduct and document building services quality assurance inspections.

    • Verify the EPC Contractor(s)'s installations are in full compliance with the project QA/QC standards and specification. Record and report any deficiency or non-compliance to the Owner.

    • Coordinate with the EPC Contractor(s)'s and subcontractors to sort out and close NCR's.

    • Recommend acceptance of completed civil/ Structural and Building Services Installations.

    • Regularly witness the EPC Contractor inspect all material delivered to site and verify they are stored in accordance with Owner's requirements and Manufacturer's recommendations.

    • Recommend acceptance of material and equipment delivered to site.

    • Work collaboratively with the site team to initiate the punch list. Follow up and ensure closure of open items.

    • Provide the Quality Representative/ Manager with continuous update on quality issues. This includes, but not limited to, Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Equipment Deliveries, Non- Conformance Reports, etc.

    • Coordinate communication between the Owner, EPC contractor(s), and / or Suppliers as and when required.

    • Attend meetings with the Owner, EPC Contractor(s), Site Team and/ or Suppliers as and when required.

    • Assist in the Testing and Commissioning process within the project.

    • Actively participate in EPC Contractor(s)'s All-hands Safety Meetings, Plan of the Day (PODs), End of Day (EOD), and morning safety meetings, and immediately report any significant injuries to the Construction Manager. In the event of a life- threatening injury or a fatality, follow the Emergency Notification Procedure.

    Requirements:

    • Experience in the HVDC construction industry working for an OEM or EPC strongly desired.

    • Must have experience in construction of HVDC converter stations and transmission substations

    Salary DOE: The pay range for this position is $60 - $70/hour; however, pay may be higher or lower depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This figure does not include additional compensation such as health benefits, vacation, 401k, etc.
