    This position is contingent upon contract award

    SOSi is currently seeking an experienced IT Project Manager oversee a team of technical experts who will design, develop and maintain database systems for our government clients in Atlanta, Georgia. You will be responsible for management of the team and program while also providing technical expertise on issues pertaining to reliable and secure data storage and retrieval for various applications and services. The IT Project Manager works closely with developers, analysts, and stakeholders to understand the data requirements and business objectives.

    Essential Job Duties

    • Ensuring senior level management within the client organization, is aware of overall program status, including all relevant projects and their potential impact on higher level organizational strategic vision, this may include subject matter and unique technical knowledge.

    • Experience applying management techniques, methods, theories, principles and labor relations concepts, sufficient to assure optimum utilization of personnel, equipment and space, and to accomplish program objectives through combined technical and administrative oversight.

    • Experience applying budget and fiscal methods used in establishing and maintaining contracts.

    • Lead a team of SME's performing business functions supporting tools and technology which include, database support, data architecture and integration, ML/AI support and more.

    • Design and implement database architectures, schemas, models, and standards that support the data needs of the organization.

    • Develop and maintain database documentation, data dictionaries, data maps, and data flow diagrams.

    • Perform database administration tasks, such as backup, recovery, security, tuning, and troubleshooting.

    • Monitor and analyze database performance and resource utilization and recommend improvements and optimizations.

    • Research and evaluate new database technologies, tools, and best practices, and provide guidance and recommendations for adoption.

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the integration and compatibility of database systems with other applications and services.

    • Provide technical support and guidance when necessary.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent work experience.

    • Must possess PMP certification.

    • At least 10 years of experience in database design, development, and administration; or

    • Associates +12 years of experience

    • High school +14 years of experience

    • Strong knowledge of database concepts, principles, and methodologies, such as relational, dimensional, and NoSQL.

    • Proficient in SQL, stored procedures, triggers, functions, and views.

    • Experience with database modeling tools.

    • Experience with database performance tuning, backup and recovery, security, and replication.

    • Experience with cloud-based database services.

    • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Master's degree is preferred.

    • Active in scope DoD secret security clearance is preferred or an ability to obtain a secret clearance.

    • Working conditions are on-site and normal for an office environment.

    • Fast paced, deadline-oriented environment.

    • May require periods of non-traditional working hours including consecutive nights or weekends (if applicable)
