    The Pennsylvania Staff Legal Office is seeking an Office Team Leader to oversee an eight (8) person team of legal professionals. This dynamic team is comprised of Legal Assistants and Clerical support staff. Our selected candidate shall ensure organizational and jurisdictional compliance with all deliverables, accuracy in the data input and quality of performance. They will seek to improve existing processes for greater efficiency. Additionally, the Office Team Leader shall ensure the alignment of resources along with quality assurance checks for the Claims Staff Legal office. Our Staff Legal Office team supports a diverse group of talented in-house Staff Attorneys practicing in Pennsylvania and Delaware. We strive to deliver excellent customer service to our internal customers and external partners. While this position is a remote position, the selected candidate must be locally available on some occasions for specific events to be onsite at our Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and/or Wilmington, Delaware offices as needed. Key responsibilities of this role are as follows: - Train, coach and develop staff to enable optimal job performance and the achievement of individual and professional goals - Ensure and monitor appropriate levels of productivity of the team - Provide direction, guidance, and training to new staff members - Evaluate, acknowledge, and manage performance of support staff - Ensure organizational and jurisdictional compliance with all required turnaround times, accuracy in the data input and quality of performance. - Collect, analyze and report out on metrics relative to direct reports of OTL and the PA SLO office as a whole. - Know and understand the document management process business requirements for inbound documents and scanning, maintenance of templates, and outbound documents - Knowledge and/or experience of both the WC and Tort practice in Pennsylvania as well as the tort practice in Delaware. - Conduct quality assurance checks in the PA SLO staff law office and monitor the number of requests for re-scan and/or for originals, escalating any concerns to appropriate parties. - Undertake significant training and serve as a ATO/Passport technology application subject matter expert to assist in particular functions/administrative tasks and projects assigned to Operations - Assist team with requests for assistance including but not limited enhanced transcription services, the expanded use of OneDrive, SharePoint; maintenance and oversight of the PA SLO Staff Legal website, etc. - Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, lead meetings and engage the team - Ensure organizational and jurisdictional compliance with all required deadlines, accuracy in the data input and quality of performance. - Create and support an environment that supports diversity, equity and inclusion, teamwork, ethics, and our work environment value - Improve on processes for greater efficiency and better work product - Demonstrate ability to be adaptable in a changing environment with shifting priorities - Deliver ad hoc training on our litigation management program, and serve as a subject matter expert to assist in the team - Provide team support with requests for assistance with vendors - Effectively allocate staff resources thru staff alignment in support of optimal legal support needs - Manage departmental expenses - Support onsite office needs ad hoc to our New Jersey Staff Legal office - Assist with recruitment and hiring of new support staff as needed - Support company initiatives including diversity and inclusion QUALIFICATIONS: - Minimum of 8 years of experience in a law firm or legal department experience with both Tort and Workers compensation experience. - Previous management experience is strongly preferred, which may include direct team oversight, project work and/or training/mentoring experience - Working knowledge of the Pennsylvania Tort and Workers Compensation laws and/or court systems - Detail oriented with strong organization, prioritization, and analytical skills - College degree or equivalent work experience - Team-player with positive outlook and collaborative work style - Demonstrated ability to communicate complex information in a mentoring/training situation - Demonstrated thought leadership with the ability to influence positive outcomes - Strong computer proficiency with MS Office, MS Teams and other case management software

    Compensation

    The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

    $81,840 - $122,760
