Locksmith III

Summary

The Locksmith III is primarily responsible for managing locks and keys, installing and repairing locks and locking devices, as well as servicing, installing, and repairing secure GSA containers, vaults, and cabinets.

Responsibilities

• Perform all duties associated with Grade 2.

• Manage complex projects and schedules involving locksmithing in association with larger

• construction efforts.

• Assign/accomplish work based on risks and security priorities.

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.

• Top Secret security clearance

• Thorough knowledge of locksmith (safe, locks, keys, master keying systems, doors and associated hardware) and in evaluating and correcting any mechanical problem associated with security containers authorized for storage

• Three (3) - five (5) years of experience working in a security function directly related to the discipline required;

• a bachelor's degree in any field of study is preferred. Technical training or expertise may be required for certain disciplines.

• Must understand Federal Government and industry lock terminology.

• Be a certified installer of GSA-approved locks

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Skill in operating a personal computer and standard office equipment

• Knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database (MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook)

• Ability to effectively communicate in written and verbal forms.

• Knowledgeable with GSA Lock Programs
