    The Logistics Coordinator will focus on observing, resolving, and preventing transportation related exceptions for all modes of international inbound freight to the Chicago gateway, along with receiving and resolving requests sent by our network of downline offices. Freight entering the US through the import gateway is destined for the Chicago market and many additional US and Latin American cities.

    Major Duties and Responsibilities

    • Develop project plans and monitor performance.

    • Understand metrics and where to apply action to achieve meaningful results.

    • Gather meaningful conclusions from datasets and effectively communicate observations to relevant stakeholders with a sense of urgency.

    • Analyze trends and exceptions to identify opportunities of improvement for overall effectiveness and performance.

    • Use data to develop and optimize strategies and processes to increase productivity, efficiency, and quality.

    • Develop and maintain lasting relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

    • Present findings and information in a professional manner during stakeholder meetings.

    • Enter relevant milestone data into Expeditors' systems as appropriate.

    • Exemplify Expeditors' 10 cultural elements, particularly integrity and pride.

    • Clear and effective verbal and written communication

    Desired Skills and Abilities

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience, preferably with a specialization in Business, Supply Chain/Logistics, Data Science, Finance, Economics, or related field

    • Qualifications in supply chain management or logistics a plus:

    • IATA/FIATA

    • Broker's License

    • University/Specialist Certifications applicable to the industry

    • Experience with presenting to small-medium audiences

    • Able to conduct effective research

    • Can remain calm during stressful interactions

    • Strong aptitude with the Microsoft Suite of applications (particularly Outlook and Excel)
