  • Position Purpose:

    In this position, the Manager of Finance will be expected to provide total financial leadership of Supply Chain work streams that are most critical to Home Depot's strategy vision. As part of this Supply Chain Finance team, members will investigate emerging technologies influencing retail and supply chain and provide financially supported investment recommendations. This role will help identify cost out opportunities in the Supply Chain network with the goal solidifying Home Depot's position as a low-cost provider and involve ownership of one or more models within the Supply Chain Finance 1P&L. Responsibilities will span across all platforms and expense types, with new strategic focus areas determined each year. Role will require close partnership with business leaders to determine the most critical focus areas and foster a mindset of continuous improvement.

    Responsibilities may include but are not limited to

    • Conducts financial planning and forecasting for the functional area.

    • Conducts Pro-Forma Financial Analysis.

    • Develops and executes cost controls.

    • Identifies process improvement opportunities to drive profitability and develops improvement strategies.

    • Discovers trends in supply chain data, investigates cost optimization opportunities, and drives understanding and consensus with business partners through data visualizations and presentations.

    • Plans and ensures execution of department objectives. Participates in preparation of the annual budget, reviews monthly expenditures and ensures that budgetary goals are met.

    • Leads, plans, and coordinates work teams in an efficient manner to effectively perform any financial function and activity; utilizes metrics to track performance and manage workload. Ensures operational processes and procedures are compliant and consist with established policies.

    • Drive key functional financial metrics.

    • Project Management - Develops and supports a strategic alliance with business partners.

    • Participates in cross-functional activities focused on solving business issues and enhancing our competitive advantage.

    • Facilitates cross-functional communication with other areas of the business including but not limited to Finance, Human Resources, Real Estate, Operations, and Information Systems.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Strategic Analysis/Problem Solving - Works to fully understand business; identify and implement process and organizational improvements. Plans and ensures execution of department objectives. Participates in preparation of the annual budget, reviews monthly expenditures and ensures that budgetary goals are met. Reviews monthly metrics to ensure goals are met.

    Direct Manager/Direct Reports:

    • Typically reports to a Director level

    • This position has 1 direct report.

    Travel Requirements:

    • Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

    Working Conditions:

    • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Must be eighteen years of age or older.

    • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Previous work experience in HD Supply Chain

    • Strong working knowledge of Excel, Tableau, BigQuery, SQL, and PowerPoint

    • Proficiency in data visualization tools and/or programming libraries

    • Financial planning and analysis experience

    • Strong communication skills and executive presence

    • Strong financial acumen & problem solving skills

    Minimum Education:

    • The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

    • Strong technical skills including data manipulation within multiple tools, ability to read/write SQL queries, and ability to build out Tableau dashboards.

    • Experience in a modern scripting language (preferably Python) preferred but not required.

    • Knowledge of Finance and Accounting Principles and Practices.

    • Business Planning/Strategy Setting experience.

    • Budgeting, Financial Planning and Financial Modeling skills.

    • Ability to interact with all levels of associates.

    Competencies:

    • Knowledge of accounting principles and practicies, analysis and reporting of financial data.

    • Knowledge of business and mgmt. Principles involved in strategic planning and resource allocation.

    • Project management skills; ability to prioritize and mult-task effectively.

    • Judgement and decision-making skills; considering relative costs, benefits of potential actions.
