    The MicroDisplay Electronics and Software team in Snap Lab develops state-of-the-art microdisplays for use in Spectacles, Snap's AR glasses.

    We're looking for a Mixed Signal Design Engineer to join the MicroDisplay Electronics and Software team at Snap Inc!

    What you'll do:

    • Collaborate within a cross-disciplinary team to design display ICs for augmented reality (AR) applications.

    • Devise and perfect mixed signal designs to fulfill the requirements for display ICs and AR initiatives.

    • Engage closely with digital design, custom layout, and fellow mixed signal design engineers.

    • Optimize circuit designs for minimal area, power consumption, and peak specification

    • performance.

    • Develop and utilize methodologies to automate design workflows for consistency and

    • efficiency, including behavioral modeling, simulation, and data analysis.

    • Conduct parasitic extraction of circuit layouts and refine designs based on the findings.

    • Integrate design features that enhance testability.

    • Articulate design concepts and simulation outcomes during design reviews.

    • Offer expert technical advice within cross-functional teams.

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    • Deep knowledge and background in CMOS analog and mixed-signal design, including an understanding of device physics, physical layout intricacies, statistical variation and ability to select correct devices for a given purpose.

    • Comprehensive design expertise in several of the following areas:

    • Bandgap reference circuits and sample-and-hold mechanisms.

    • ADC and DAC design.

    • Operational amplifier and reference current/voltage amplifier design.

    • Internal drivers, receivers, level translators and arrayed hierarchical analog

    • structures.

    • IO design that integrates ESD and latch-up prevention strategies into the layout.

    • Proficiency in a variety of CAD tools for design, simulation, layout, and scripting languages.

    • Proven experience in supporting project tape-out verification, including DRC, ERC, and LVS.

    • Experience with analog behavioral modeling using Verilog-A and real number modeling.

    • A deep understanding of reliability issues and layout effects, such as electromigration (EM),and strategies to mitigate them.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • BSEE or relevant years of experience

    • 5+ years in directly applicable work performing custom layout

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Proficient with Cadence Virtuoso Schematic, Cadence Spectre/APS/XPS, and Cadence ADE environments for design and simulation.

    • Expertise in custom layout design utilizing the Cadence Virtuoso design environment.

    • Well-versed in both Linux and Windows software applications.

    • Proficiency in pre-silicon verification and top-level mixed-signal design simulations.

    • Design experience with a focus on signal integrity and resolution of associated issues.

    • Skilled with Mentor Calibre for LVS, DRC, ERC, DFM, and RVE.

    • Experience in designing with 22nm CMOS technology or smaller nodes, including familiarity with corresponding foundry processes.

    • Knowledgeable in IC test development and characterization techniques.

    • Hands-on experience with bench testing, evaluation, and validation processes.

    • Strong programming skills in TCL, Perl, Python, C, MATLAB, and experience with version control systems.

    Compensation

    In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These pay zones may be modified in the future.

    Zone A (CA, WA, NYC) (~~~) :

    The base salary range for this position is $152,000-$228,000 annually.

    Zone B (~~~) :

    The base salary range for this position is $144,000-$217,000 annually.

    Zone C (~~~) :

    The base salary range for this position is $129,000-$194,000 annually.

    This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
