Responsibilities

• Provide expert counsel on real estate litigation matters, including zoning, permitting, and environmental issues.

• Represent municipalities, Townships, Boroughs, Zoning Boards, and School Districts in legal proceedings.

• Handle land use appeals, zoning board cases, variances, special exceptions, and other related matters.

• Conduct thorough legal research, draft legal documents, and prepare compelling arguments.

• Collaborate with senior attorneys and shareholders on strategic legal initiatives.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor / Juris Doctorate (J.D. / JD) degree from an accredited law school.

• Admission to the Pennsylvania Bar in good standing.

• Minimum of 3 years of legal experience, with some additional experience in real estate / municipal law, with a focus on litigation.

• Strong writing and research skills, demonstrated through prior legal work and writing samples.

• Proficiency in Westlaw, familiarity with town codes, and a deep understanding of state laws.

• Ability to effectively communicate complex legal concepts to laypeople.

• Ideally experience litigating cases in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, and surrounding counties.

Experience with night meetings and availability once a week for meetings.
