  • The Center for Public Health Genomics (CPHG) in the School of Medicine at the University of Virginia ( ~~~/ ) seeks a tenure-track faculty member at any rank (Asst. or Assoc. or Full Prof.). Candidates should address contemporary problems in human disease through the use of cutting-edge genetics, genomics, and/or multi-omics technologies. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, complex trait genetics (humans or model organisms), cancer genomics, epigenomics, systems genetics, or functional genomics. While the position includes wet lab space, we actively encourage applicants who engage in both experimental and computational research.

    The CPHG was established in January 2007 and is currently home to 18 resident faculty and over 50 affiliated faculty. The CPHG is an area of excellence in human genetics and genomics research at the University of Virginia. Our core mission is focused on advancing personalized medicine through the use of genetic and genomic discovery to inform the prediction, prevention, and treatment of disease. CPHG labs use cutting-edge computational and experimental approaches to investigate the basis of a wide-range of disease areas including, diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular disease, pulmonary disease, osteoporosis, and cancer. Critical to the mission of the CPHG is training the next generation of genome scientists by providing state-of-the-art research, translational, and teaching experiences.

    Candidates must hold a Ph.D. and/or M.D. in Genetics, Genomics, Molecular Biology, or a related field. Applicants with outstanding credentials from all fields will be considered.
