    As a Principal Advanced Manufacturing Engineer, you will provide technical leadership in high level analysis and design of JLG's global footprint and manufacturing layout. This is a crucial role in JLG's future manufacturing strategy as we look to gain efficiencies within our product lines and manufacturing processes. This is a non-supervisory position.

    YOUR IMPACT

    • Perform a wide variety of investigative and analytical studies for optimizing global footprint.

    • Ensure that manufacturing factories are optimally designed and located to support customer base.

    • Support competitive manufacturing analysis to ensure products are being manufactured in the right location.

    • Lead and participate in long range enterprise capacity planning.

    • Identify new manufacturing technologies and innovation that provide additional capability within the factories.

    • Create business case to justify new manufacturing processes and implement on global scale.

    • Manage and coordinate resources to drive manufacturing projects that support the global manufacturing strategy.

    • Conduct research, development and deployment of manufacturing technologies into global manufacturing facilities

    • Lead and provide support for the justification and selection of major capital equipment.

    • Collaborate with other manufacturing departments such as quality, materials, EHS, and facilities.

    • Apply project management skills (scope, schedule, cost) and coordination of internal and external resources to execute projects in a timely and cost-effective manner.

    • Drive maturity of the overall plant knowledge of technology, adoption of new technologies, and ensure factories in the regions have the best access to the latest technological thinking and possible solutions.

    • Strong knowledge in optimizing factory design and material flow based on lean principles.

    • Support simulation of future state process models for increased throughput, and capacity utilization

    • Use statistical analysis to validate results.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • B.S. Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering

    • 5+ years related experience.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Excellent communication skills

    • Demonstrated ability to participate or lead a cross-functional team.

    • Project management experience, including the ability to manage a project by delivering scope, cost and schedule.

    • Capable of working in a collaborative and team focused environment; open to new ideas

    • Demonstrated understanding of fabrication processes - cutting, bending, machining, welding, coating, assembly

    • Able to evaluate processes based on lean principles.

    • Must be proficient with CAD software (AutoCAD)

    • Strategic thinker

    • Time management and problem-solving skills.
