Position Description

Job Summary

Kaytec Vinyl Inc. a division of Saint-Gobain, manufacturer is searching for a Quality Assurance Technician . The person will be responsible to Perform inspection of extruded profiles and assemblies to company and customer specifications and standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Identify problems and issues regarding quality of the products.

• Measure and verify functions of "first off" production samples in the beginning of new orders as required.

• Use dimensional measurements and different measuring tools and/or devices (caliper, measure tape, scale, Colour-meter, Impact tester).

• Identify and reduce production errors with thorough inspections and test of in-process products.

• Educate and train production team on Quality standards and methods of inspection.

• Interpret blueprints and engineering documents to determine quality requirements.

• Enters test data into the computerized testing results database.

• Provide timely feedback to manufacturing if non-conforming product was identified.

• Documenting / reporting non-conformance product and generate non-conformance reports (NCR) and Quality alerts in accordance with company policy of non-conforming materials.

• Maintain product quality documentation in compliance with established processes and procedures.

• Ensures Manufacturing Quality Systems are adhered to, including calibration system for Quality measuring tools.

• Perform calibration for measuring tools and/or devices.

• Keeps the laboratory working area and equipment in a functional, clean and orderly condition, and maintains laboratory supplies.

• Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following company's standards and procedures; may be involved in safety committees or initiatives.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Post-Secondary education in a related field.

• One (1) year of experience in a quality control or Quality assurance, preferably within a plastic manufacturing environment preferred.

• Proficient in Outlook, Office, and Microsoft Teams.

• Assertive, comfortable communicating with various types of individuals at all levels of the organization.

• Must be self-motivated, able to work independently as well as in a team and complete tasks with minimal supervision.

• Detail-oriented and analytical decision maker.

Salary : $21.45/h
