    Job Summary

    The Region Support Engineering Manager will oversee the development of a comprehensive 5-year distribution work plan. Responsibilities include leading I&M's engineering and central design teams as well as providing training support for technical personnel. This role is responsible for initiating and planning distribution projects and programs such as the Reliability Enhancement program, Grid Modernization program, Network projects as well as collaborating with peer team members in Transmission and Corporate Planning organizations for Combined projects. Leading the collaborative efforts with peer organizations at I&M's districts as well as corporate is a primary focus. This role is key in providing regulatory support for distribution related filings at I&M's Commissions.

    Job Description

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    • Lead and coach to ensure that each employee maintains a customer-focused attitude by conveying a thorough understanding of expectations and instill the importance of achieving superior customer experience.

    • Lead and direct the region support group into an effective team by developing the management and technical skills of team members.

    • Assure consistency and quality in distribution engineering deliverables and compliance with applicable standards and codes.

    • Maintain a consistent and effective safety awareness program in the department.

    • Collaborate with distribution team members to manage and monitor appropriate performance goals.

    • Actively manage budgets for internal staff and external contractors as well as business partners.

    • Ensure key objectives and goals pertaining to distribution system performance and power quality are met.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    Education requirements are listed below

    • Bachelor's degree in business, communications, engineering, or related field.

    Work Experience requirement listed below

    • Minimum of eight years' experience in distribution, construction, maintenance, and/or operations with five years of supervisory experience in distribution or equivalent experience.

    Required License(s)/Certification(s) are listed below:

    • Must maintain a state driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

    OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Physical demand level is Sedentary.

    • Good understanding and knowledge of distribution systems is essential and of the transmission systems is beneficial.

    • Good written and verbal communications skills.

    • Moderate amount of travel will be required.

    • Must be able to see information on computer screen and use computer keyboard.

    • Must be able to hear spoken words via telephone, cell phone or during individual or group meetings.

    Compensation Range:

    $129,963.00-168,952.00 USD
