    Purpose

    Work closely with team members to direct and manage Business Development efforts in the remote sensing group. Develop promotional concepts and new client business opportunities across the US. Interact with clients by initiating conversations in various energy market sectors including Electric, Solar, and Oil & Gas that relate to Bowman's capabilities.

    Key Responsibilities

    Leadership and Direction

    • Receive broad guidance from senior-level management relating to overall key objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters and general parameters for execution. Manage people and processes to ensure effective execution. Review work produced by staff for quality assurance.

    • Provide oversight and direction of department or business unit including strategy, budgeting, staff, and deliverables.

    At the Operational and Company Level

    • Identify, formulate, and execute strategic initiatives for regional business growth aligned with the corporate long term strategic plan.

    • Maximize contact with key accounts, key contacts and other critical people at various client organizations and focus efforts to obtain new work and generation of new enquiries for the business.

    • Provide input to management based on market information to enable the organization to develop capability in areas to give Bowman strategic leverage for future projects.

    • Develop promotional concepts and new client business opportunities in all areas of service and geographic locations.

    • Identify and attend industry conferences to foster networking and source qualified prospects.

    • Gather and analyze market intelligence for new projects and opportunities.

    • Foster and develop positive customer relationships to support increased business.

    • Understand customer needs and assist in the development of project solutions that satisfy those requirements and provide opportunities.

    Education, Work Experience, Licensure/Certifications, and Technical Requirements

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related industry/field (remote sensing, GIS, engineering or business), or ability to demonstrate how commensurate education and experience apply to position.

    • MBA or advanced degree is preferred.

    • Ten or more (10+) years of business development, sales, and marketing experience.

    • Five or more (5+) years of hands-on technical experience working within the utility and remote sensing industries.

    • A demonstrated track record of creating new business opportunities and securing new business.

    • Must be able to travel as defined by business development opportunities.

    • Knowledge or understanding of drone applications in the use of remote sensing projects around utilities

    • Basic understanding of the capabilities of various geospatial software

    • Demonstrated experience in the preparation of proposals, marketing collaterals, and presentations.

    • Excellent leadership, networking, communication, project management, relationship building and problem-solving skills.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other applicable software tools necessary to perform job.

    Physical Demands and Working Environment

    • Primarily indoor professional office environment which may include bright/dim light, noise, fumes, odors, and traffic.

    • Mobility around an office environment.

    • Frequent and prolonged use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

    • Primarily local travel during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be required according to the needs of the business.

    • Occasional lifting or carrying up to 20 pounds.

    • Occasional pushing or pulling up to 20 pounds.

    • Occasional reaching outward or above shoulder.
