We are seeking a Research Assistant who will assist with the research for Professor Waugh on two different projects: Urban Heat Monitoring and Ocean Modeling during the summer.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Urban Heat Monitoring assist with
The development of data management system for data collected from weather stations.
Collection of new data from weather stations and other instruments
Analysis of spatial-temporal variation in temperature and relative humidity.
Development of data visualization system.
Ocean Modeling assist with
Management of large datasets generated by multiple global ocean or climate models.
Collection of additional data from various sources (modeling and observations)
Analysis of variations in ocean fields using this large data collection.
Special Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Excellent written and oral skills and the ability to communicate effectively are essential Strong organizational, administrative, project management, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage and track large amounts of sensitive and diverse data.
Ability to work independently and with others.
Ability to understand and enforce laboratory safety standards and protocols.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.
Additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Starting Salary Range: $17.00 - $30.00 HRLY (Commensurate with experience)
Employee group: Casual / On Call
Schedule: Monday-Friday; 8:30-5pam
