    The Windows and Devices organization is seeking a Senior Communications Manager to help lead the shaping of the organization's narrative and public perception - both internal and external to Microsoft. The Senior Communications Manager will craft and guide strategic messaging for the organization and its leadership. This person will collaborate closely with organizational leadership to deliver messaging and branding that help advance and support the business, product, and cultural objectives for Windows and Devices.

    Responsibilities

    Strategy and Content Creation

    • Create and execute a communications strategy and roadmap that clarifies and amplifies the Windows + Devices business and product strategy and culture, for both W+D employees and internal partners

    • Develop communications in support of key leadership, organization, business, and product announcements, for both internal and external audiences

    • Partner with design and production resources and teams to produce visually appealing and compelling assets to support effective storytelling

    • Support Chief of Staff community with communications assets they can leverage for scaling communications across the Windows and Devices organization

    • Measure, plan, and inform communications strategy by utilizing data and insights from internal surveys and feedback channels

    • Create and manage issue-based communications, as necessary

    Event Communications

    • Coach executives and prepare them for internal and external speaking engagements

    • Plan and manage events such as Town Halls

    • Partner with Marketing and PR teams on planning and executing external engagements, as well as content creation

    • Identify opportunities to enhance external reputation and perception and develop content accordingly, including social media engagement

    Technology and Knowledge Development

    • Manage multiple communications platforms and mediums, including but not limited to email, video, PowerPoint, events, Viva Engage, SharePoint, etc.

    • Drive the adoption and use of new technology and tools to help facilitate two-way dialogue between leaders and employees

    • Develop knowledge of Microsoft products and effectively participate in technical conversations related to products

    • Understand the business strategy and broader industry context and positioning, utilizing this information to inform communications strategy and asset development

    Qualifications

    Required/Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Finance, or related field AND 4+ years Communications, Marketing Operations, Field Operations, Program Management, Project Management, or related experience within the technology industry.

    • OR equivalent experience.

    • 2+ years' experience supporting senior executives in an executive communications role.

    Additional or Preferred Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Finance, or related field AND 6+ years Communications, Marketing Operations, Field Operations, Program Management, Project Management, or related experience within the techology industry

    • OR equivalent experience.

    • 4+ years experience supporting senior executives in an executive communications role.

    • 3+ years experience working with social media platforms.

    • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal

    • Talent for creating compelling stories and communications assets

    • Ability to work with executive leadership with maturity, confidence, and sound judgment

    • Highly functional organizational and project management skills

    • Ability to work effectively and excel in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment

    • Ensure communications meet accessibility and compliance standards, aligned with applicable policies and regulations, and organization values

    Communications IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $101,200 - $194,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $130,000 - $213,200 per year.
