    The anticipated salary range for this role is between $103,000.00 and $206,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.

    Role Description

    This role resides within the Nikko Information Technology Group and you will be part of an established Cloud Engineering team. The AWS SRE Lead role will have you working on AWS infrastructure for migration of existing servers and applications and with advanced cloud services. You will work in a dynamic and fast-paced team environment and lead SRE team members. You will be working with peers collaboratively for project tasks in a very feedback receptive environment and also be expected to work independently.

    Role Objectives

    • As an AWS SRE Lead, you will also be expected to navigate our current network and system architecture to identify how to efficiently and seamlessly adopt AWS cloud platform into our infrastructure.

    • Design cloud infrastructure that is secure, scalable, and highly available on AWS

    • Design and improve CI/CD pipeline on AWS

    • Work collaboratively with software engineering team to define infrastructure and deployment requirements

    • Provision, configure and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure defined as code

    • Administer and troubleshoot Linux based systems

    • Troubleshoot problems across a wide array of services and functional areas

    • Build and maintain operational tools for deployment, monitoring, and analysis of AWS infrastructure and systems

    • Escalate and solve any technical issues that can prove risk to production systems and business

    • Support and produce migration plan for network infrastructure of cloud adoption without interrupting the business

    • Create and maintain high quality documentation for architecture implementation plan, as this can be used for reusable patterns and trends for any future cloud solutions

    • Be proactive in providing technical guidance to business functionality developers when there are challenges/obstructions to adopting cloud platform

    • This position will be working with the software engineering/security team and focusing on AWS infrastructure and automation.

    • A key part of the role is championing and leading infrastructure as code.

    • You will be expected to lead and assist in initiative to implement application infrastructure and architectural design for a cloud computing platform.

    • To avoid routine work, we will leverage Managed solution as much as possible and will also use container solution by using outside established container image on AWS.

    • We are looking for someone who is well-versed in cloud platform migration and is very familiar with AWS specifically.

    Qualifications and Skills

    • 10+ years of specialized experience. 2-3 years of Cloud experience is preferable.

    • 2+ years of professional experience working as a Team Lead.

    • Experience building and maintaining AWS infrastructure (Airflow, Lambda, RDS, API Gateway, S3, EC2, CodeCommit, CodePipeline, CodeDeploy, CodeBuild)

    • Hands-on experience deploying and managing infrastructure with AWS Cloud Development Kit

    • Solid foundation of networking and Linux administration

    • Experience with Docker, GitHub, Jenkins and deploying applications on AWS

    • Ability to learn/use a wide variety of open source technologies and tools

    • Good understanding of finance and able to adapt quickly to business technology landscape is a plus

    • Strong communication skills and language bridging between development team and business stakeholders

    • Technical understanding of application design and SDLC life cycle

    • Software Systems / Programming Languages: "Proficiency working in Linux, Python, web application, database design, SQL and stored procedures.

    • Education: Required: BA/BS , Preferred: MA/MS/MBA

    • Undergrad Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related fields
