    Summary

    • The Senior Secretary is responsible for a variety of clerical and administrative tasks in support of the day-to-day operation of the Pathology department. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills and be attentive and empathetic to patient's needs and concerns. The candidate will be skilled in navigating the electronic health record to identify the completion of critical clinical chart elements to help ensure efficient patient flow. The ideal candidate will have strong time-management skills and foster a sense of responsibility for completing daily work assigned. The Senior Secretary will need to be flexible to adjust work responsibilities according to the department's changing priorities throughout the day.

    Responsibilities

    • Provides a variety of clerical and administrative tasks in support of the day-to-day operation of the Pathology department. These duties include professionally and promptly handling slide consultations, supporting FNA teams, filing and distributing slides, interacting with outside institutions and patients to process their requests and to address their concerns, and supporting the faculty members.

    • Credentials:

    Education or Equivalent Experience

    • H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)

    • 3+ years Education Specialization:

    • Associate of Arts or Science

    • And 0-1 years Prior experience navigating EPIC. Computer coursework and medical terminology preferred. Education Specialization:
