  • **Senior Communications Specialist **

    Description

    The individual in this role will be responsible for supporting communications of our strategic initiatives via all mediums to improve how we connect with our various stakeholders. Works with the Communications team and company leaders to create communications that inform and engage, while reflecting our employment and corporate brand.

    **Primary Responsibilities: **

    • Develop and execute strategic communication plans for strategic business initiatives and other projects.

    • Identify, write, review and edit content to ensure compliance with established brand and style guidelines.

    • Support the change management process by communicating to build awareness, foster understanding and result in associates taking the desired action for key initiatives.

    • Support initiatives that require communications for sensitive topics and/or topics that are highly confidential in nature.

    • Develop content to be shared across internal and external communications channels.

    • Manage and produce the bi-weekly leadership newsletter.

    • Provide strategic communications counsel to stakeholders across the company.

    • Support the department's editorial process, including the creation and oversight of an annual content calendar.

    • Analyze and measure the effectiveness of communications to demonstrate ROI.

    • Actively engage with SVP, Corporate Communications and Director of Communications on department strategy.

    • Support the department budget to include managing invoicing and budget tasks.

    • Coordinate and supervise freelance or temporary staff, as necessary.

    • Coordinate with external communications team as appropriate to execute integrated communications.

    • Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.

    Qualifications

    Requirements:

    • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related area such as journalism, communications, public relations, or integrated communications.

    • Five years of experience working in a related field, with at least two years in a corporate communications or public relations agency environment with constituents in multiple locations.

    • CPG, Retail, Manufacturing and/or Foodservice industry experience.

    Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements:

    • Proficient with professional communications standards, including writing style guides and corporate communication best practices.

    • Superior writing and editing skills.

    • Ability to lead and guide the work of others, including people who work in other departments.

    • Adept at dealing with ambiguous situations.

    • Outstanding project manager and self-starter who can work independently.

    • Demonstrated experience in and knowledge of content management systems.

    • Hands-on leadership of content strategy and execution.

    • Media relations experience. Including pitching stories.

    • Proficient in social media content and monitoring.

    • Experience executing video and other technology in innovative ways.

    • Utmost attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

    • Ability to simultaneously balance multiple projects with competing priorities while working in a deadline-driven environment.

    • Able to take initiative to push internal communication tools to the next level of effectiveness.

    • Creativity and innovation competencies.

    • Proven team player with strong interpersonal skills.

    • Proficiency in SharePoint and the entire Microsoft Office suite.
