Sr. Accountant

Description

Robert Half is partnering with a high-end estate looking to add a Senior Accountant to their team. The Food & Beverage- Senior Accountant will play a key role in managing and analyzing financial data for Food & Beverage (F& B), Banquets, and Catering operations. This position will work closely with ownership, the F& B Director, and the Finance Director to ensure accurate financial reporting, cost control, and decision-making within these areas. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, financial analysis, and a deep understanding of F& B cost management.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Analyze F& B, Banquets, and Catering cost structures, develop annual budgets and forecasts, and monitor performance against those budgets to identify areas for improvement and cost savings.

• Oversee inventory control processes, including tracking, reconciling, and reporting on F& B inventory levels. Implement strategies to reduce waste and optimize inventory turnover.

• Prepare regular cost reports for F& B, Banquets, and Catering, providing detailed insights into cost trends, variances, and recommendations for improvement.

• Collaborate with culinary and sales teams to assess the profitability of menu items and catering packages.

• Investigate and report on variances between actual and expected costs, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.

• Evaluate vendor contracts, negotiate terms, and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality of products and services.

• Ensure compliance with accounting principles and internal controls in F& B cost management.

• Assist in the month-end closing process, including reconciling accounts, preparing journal entries, and producing accurate financial statements.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required

• At least 5 years of progressive experience in a hotel or a related industry

• Requires advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the finance and hospitality professions

• Requires ability to investigate and analyze current activities and/or information in a specialized field involving readily available data and indicating logical conclusions and recommendations

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with hotel accounting software

• Strong understanding of F& B Point-of-Sale systems

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across departments
