Staff Accountant

Description

Lisa Cole with Robert Half is currently partnering with a large stable company that is looking to add a Staff Accountant to the team. The staff accountant will work closely with the Controller and will be responsible for financial reporting, maintaining assets, liabilities and profit and loss statements. The ideal candidate will have experience with working in the general ledger, examining records for accuracy and a strong user of Excel. Duties will include

• Establishes and enforces proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.

• Utilize discretion and independent judgment to review, investigate, reconcile, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial accounts, documents, and reports.

• Utilize modern computer technology to develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems.

• Compute taxes owed and prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting or other tax requirements.

• Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.

• Establish chart of accounts and assign entries to proper accounts.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

• BA or BS in Accounting or closely related field from an accredited university is required.

• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in accounting or a closely related position is required.

• Experience in account reconciliation.

• Advanced knowledge of Excel is required.
