    Tuknik Government Services, a Koniag Government Services company , is seeking a Technical Writer with a Public Trust Clearance to support TGS and our government customer in Baltimore, MD. This opportunity will require two days onsite and teleworking the other three days.

    The employee is responsible for creating and editing a variety of technical and non-technical documents to include, but not limited to, user guides, training material, operational procedures, reference manuals, research papers, and website content. They create and update graphic presentation materials, and work with subject matter experts to document, develop, design, verify, and establish customer SharePoint sites.

    Shift:

    Monday through Friday, 8.5 hours in core hours of 6:00 am to 6:00 pm

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: (Not listed in order of importance; other duties may be assigned):

    • Create, design, and maintain the customer web site.

    • Consult with customers to refine requirements into technical specifications for possible development of automated processes.

    • Analyze long and short-range IT studies on technical training and trends on a weekly basis and provide a status to the customer.

    • Create and manage databases to track IT technical training within the organization.

    • Coordinate customer training needs with the systems training branch.

    • Update and manage the customer skillset database on a quarterly basis. This Access database shows the skills employees have and skills that are necessary.

    • Develop, implement, and maintain automated systems and tools to monitor progress of projects and determine potential problems.

    • Act as database administrator and develop procedures to ensure data integrity and backup for all OAC databases.

    • Compose meeting notes, add content, and document current and future processes in support of capital planning and investment control process.

    • Compose and revise proposed implementations in order to manage a more coordinated process to improve the ability to efficiently strategize, plan, budget, and execute near and long-term Information Technology initiatives.

    • Monitor the customer training email mailbox.

    • Post correspondence with customer Training Coordinators and Division Directors informing them of new training offerings.

    • Monitor mandatory training demands and update Division Directors on completion percentages.

    • Release mandatory training reports to Training Coordinators and OSOHE Division Controls Mailboxes.

    • Coordinate and support regular vendor visits as part of yearly Engineering Strategy planning. This task includes reaching out to respondents, scheduling appointments, getting approval for building access, and hosting the meetings with executives, as needed.

    • Create and manage branch-level SharePoint sites, as needed, and serve as SharePoint administrator.

    • Provide administrative support for OSOHE Executive staff. These duties include, but are not limited to, assisting executives with calendar requests, and serving as administrator for the OneStop Portal Page.

    Education and/or Experience:

    • Associate degree in a related field; bachelor's degree preferred.

    • Minimum three years' work experience

    • Senior-level skills in developing technical and non-technical documentation.

    • Senior-level SharePoint administration skills

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.), Visio, Windows XP, and MS Exchange/Outlook.

    Abilities:

    • Ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines.

    • Excellent critical thinking skills

    • Strong self-starter requiring minimal supervision.

    • Strong problem-solving skills

    • Strong verbal communication to effectively express concepts, plans, and proposal

    This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

    This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.

    The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
