Telemetry Tech

Position Summary: The Telemetry Technician is in a key role to support nursing with patient care by monitoring heart rhythms of adult patients on telemetry throughout the hospital. Patients are monitored in a centralized department. The Telemetry Technician performs a variety of technical tasks under the direction of the Registered Nurse. Communication skills and the ability to handle urgent situations is the key to success.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education:

• High school diploma/GED preferred

• Associate's Degree/Clinical Certification preferred or comparable technical experience.

Certifications:

• CPR Required

• Telemetry Class and Competency in EKG interpretation preferred

Experience:

• Central Telemetry experience preferred

• EKG technician experience acceptable
