Intel's Automated Material Handling System (AMHS) and Material Control Systems Automation team is hiring an AMHS Controls Engineer. The candidate will be part of our Controls Engineering group responsible for the full life cycle of systems design and deployment to enable optimized material flow in our semiconductor factories worldwide. Conceptualization and developing new material controls systems capabilities that work in concert with automated material handling systems (transport, storage, and linking) of material in our factories. Additionally, our team is responsible for the factory sustaining and operations in a 24x7 environment. It's imperative that we design and deploy robust systems that have high availability with minimal disruption to factory operations. This is achieved by partnering and collaborating with our customers, stakeholders, engineers, and technicians.
We partner with suppliers, mainly in Japan, to design, test, install, qualify, and proliferate material handling systems to Intel factories worldwide. Therefore, the role of an engineer can be very specialized in an area, or span all aspects of the system, requirements definition, design, test, validation, sustaining, and operations. Where we want to go in the next 10 years requires that we build our skills in software, data analytics as well as advanced hardware technology and system intelligence. This requires us to think differently about how AMHS and Material Control Systems are designed and deployed in a constantly morphing factory environment and operation.
This position requires participation in an on-call rotation pool with our team of engineers. This position may require some travel, including international, but very infrequent.
The candidate should also exhibit the following behavioral traits and/or skills:
Proactive person, able to work in a dynamic customer and team-oriented environment.
