  • A new, exciting Controls Engineer opportunity! Description: This company is a leading, family-owned global manufacturer of fiberglass insulation. They deliver thermal and acoustical solutions for residential, commercial, industrial and OEM applications. With an emphasis on commitment to quality, service, performance, and recycled/renewable materials, they are leading the charge in developing smarter insulation solutions to improve energy efficiency and create healthier living environments. They currently have five (5) manufacturing facilities and will soon be adding their sixth (6). This Controls Engineer will be apart of the Corporate Capital Expenditure team assisting with all new equipment upgrades and retro-fitting legacy facilities. You will be dedicated to 2 - 3 projects at a time that are in varying phases. Below are the essential functions of the position: - Perform PLC, HMI, Drive programming and modifications - Manage all large capital projects - Oversee new plant projects and upgrade/redesign existing equipment from design/specification through completion - Develop scopes of work, request quotes, write purchase orders, coordinate internal and external project team members, monitor and adhere to the budget and timeline, etc. - Pursue technologies to improve safety, product quality, plant profitability and operating efficiency by reducing scrap, lowering maintenance costs, etc. - Coordinate and implement OEM equipment - Assist Corporate HSE in developing electrical safety practices - Support plant rebuilds as needed - Provide additional training and development support for plant Craftsmen, Operators, and Engineers Required Skills & Qualifications: + Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology + 5+ years of professional controls experience + Allen-Bradley PLC programming experience (ability to write new PLC programs from scratch & make modifications) + Project management experience (qualify and define project specifications, manage a budget, manage detailed daily schedule, etc) + Ability to communicate with internal/external stakeholders Additional Skills & Qualifications: + Experience with servo design (Allen-Bradley VFDs) + Knowledge of electrical/power design (fundamental knowledge of electrical codes) + Ethernet networking Supplemental Information: Expect to work on average 40 - 50 hours/week; Monday - Friday 8 AM - 5 PM (some Saturdays may be required). This position does require 30% travel to various company locations: Michigan, West Virginia, Texas, Alabama, and California. Travel can consist of just a few days or up to a week at a time.
