    Opportunity

    Abt Associates seeks a qualified Medicaid Policy Senior Analyst in its Division of Health and Environment to support a range of research, implementation, and technical assistance projects. This position requires policy analysis, policy implementation, writing and/ research competencies and skills. It is an ideal position for someone with a health policy background who wishes to apply their knowledge to large Federal project(s) and is a pathway to leadership opportunities within Abt.

    Key Roles and Responsibilities May Include

    • Support design, planning and implementation of projects related to healthcare policy initiatives

    • Analyzing and implementing key policy provisions on behalf of clients

    • Developing talking points, memos, and deliverables with high quality and strategic viewpoints

    • Provide administrative project management, including coordinating meetings and teams

    • Develop training materials

    • Support business development, including managing or writing on proposals

    • Occasional domestic travel

    Preferred Skills / Prerequisites

    • Masters of Public Health (MPH), Master of Public Policy OR a Masters of Science (MS) AND at least 3 years of experience in public health/health services research field

    • Excellent writing

    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite

    • Ability to present oneself in a professional manner to and on behalf of clients

    • Understanding of federal government healthcare policies and programs

    • Knowledge of publicly-funded healthcare and other benefit programs, specifically Medicaid

    • Demonstrated capabilities in managing project tasks and budgets

    • Works effectively on teams

    • Previous experience with federal or state clients such as the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, state Medicaid or public health programs

    Minimum Qualifications

    Bachelor's Degree + Five years of relevant experience, or Master's Degree + Three years of relevant experience, or PhD


    The position offers an anticipated base salary of approximately $69,118 to $110,589 and may vary by ten percent depending on candidate geographical location. Salary offers are made based on internal equity and market analysis.
