Our Transmission & Distribution global practice is looking for an Electrical Engineer in our Vancouver, WA office to serve as a senior and lead engineer on telecommunications projects. The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the design and coordination of all aspects of work related to private communication networks for utilities, including wired and wireless networks (MPLS and LTE), SCADA and Smart Grid Automation, and fiber optics.
The ideal candidate will be excellent in project execution and demonstrated performance in client service and coordination, project management, marketing, proposal writing, industry thought leadership, and internal team leadership.
Major responsibilities for the Senior Electrical Engineer will include:
Designing of communication systems for electric utilities utilizing client standards and/or developing new standards. Project deliverables may include:
Network architecture diagrams
Device configuration files
Bill of materials
Specifications
Equipment plans, sections and details
Wiring diagrams
Cable lists
Channel plans
RF path studies
Scope of work documents
Provide support to customers in field of expertise
Work with the project manager to establish project schedule, track budget and lead the engineering team to meet deadlines
Identify, communicate, and resolve issues on projects as needed
Execute complex assignments requiring the use of advanced tools and techniques, resulting in the development of new or improved processes, equipment and/or technological methods
Provide leadership, guidance and instruction to less experienced staff members
Work closely with the project team to ensure deliverables and services are being provided to client's satisfaction and that projects are following internal QA/QC guidelines
Perform design quality reviews
Regularly meet and correspond with clients or outside personnel to develop relationships with key client points of contact
Prepare proposals and assist in presentations
Assists in performing field inspections, measurements or calculations for public and private clients
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Engineering, construction management or related field from an accredited curriculum.
Minimum of seven (7) years of utility Networks, Integration and Automation project experience with at least three (3) years related project management experience and mission critical experience.
Professional Engineering (PE) registration preferred.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
Must have ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of industry, government and public contracts on project-related matters.
Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to travel.
Valid driver's license required.
In addition, must meet standards to qualify for and maintain the Company's vehicle driving privileges as outlined in the Company's Motor Vehicle Safety Policy.
