The Opportunity
Based in our corporate headquarters in Abbott Park, IL we have an opportunity for a Senior Functional Project Manager, Corporate Financial Services. This role will be responsible for:
PMO Support: Provide CFS program support as part of the Project Management Office that has been established for strategic initiatives led by CFS/SSO; support other projects & initiatives as allocated from CFS/SSO Leadership
Project Manager: Perform a Project Manager role for complex enterprise projects under the direction of the CFS/SSO Leadership
What You Will Work On:
Support the development and implementation of a formal Governance process required to execute Corporate Finance Services' Roadmap
Mobilize meeting cadence and partner with other project leads to ensure that project objectives and business outcomes are met
Communicate and manage the governance process for CFS workstreams within the allocated project
Support Program leadership with ongoing Executive Reporting and other initiatives as required as part of CFS Roadmap and other Strategic Initiatives
Partner with GPO, BTS and other functions to achieve the above
Project Manager for allocated Projects:
Lead assigned projects collaboratively while actively engaging with CFS and other leadership
Be able to manage and influence core & extended teams
Develop processes and tools as required to enable execution and provide the necessary steps to ensure the deployment of the project success.
Develop the project plan, milestones, deliverables, and budget (as required).
Communicate the project methodology to stakeholders and team members
Identify priorities\schedules relative to each project and ensure deliverables are achieved
Manage stakeholder interactions (Project Team, HR, Organizational Change Leads, Process Owners, Business stakeholders, Third Party Service Provider, IT etc.) to ensure project milestones achieved
Meet regularly with the PMO and GPO teams to review and make critical decisions to achieve program objectives. Meet regularly with project team to control deadlines, budgets, and activities
Proactively identify and escalate potential challenges or project risks to the PMO on a timely basis. Manages risk identification and mitigations. Implement and manage changes and interventions to ensure project goals are achieved
Provide on-going updates to key leaders in CFS, Divisions and other stakeholders including the Project Steering Committee, Program management team, and functional leadership as required
Lead and support project team members. Coaches and develops team member and ensures continuing development of their skills.
Ensure appropriate change management discipline for allocated projects
Produce accurate and timely reporting of project status
Track project achievements against objectives
Required Qualifications:
Candidate must be an experienced finance professional having at least 7 years finance experience (with at least 3 years within Finance related Project and Program Management) or an experienced Project Manager with 10 years+ of relevant experience
Experienced in a Multinational environment
Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in business or related field.
Good understanding of key business and finance processes (Record to Report, Procure to Pay, Order to Cash, local statutory accounting and tax compliance etc.) is essential
Strong experience delivering projects
Professional PM qualification desirable
Knowledge of the software implementation lifecycle for ERP and data processing systems desirable
Essential Skills and Abilities:
Skilled communicator with an ability to obtain consensus, lead and influence change
Strong executive presentation skills and the ability to synthesize complex concepts to support executive decision making
Strong analytical skills and demonstrated problem solving skills. Proven ability to easily identify trends, troubleshoot, document, escalate, track, and resolve issues.
Ability to work autonomously in a challenging, fast-paced environment
Ability to drive project achievement and deliverables through positive influence and engagement of all involved stakeholders
Excellent problem-solving ability
Outstanding organizational skills
Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
