The Sr. Manager, Systems Engineering is responsible for planning and managing the full scope of services assigned to this position. The Sr. Manager, Systems Engineering provides direction and leadership in understanding the IT vision. This person develops a service organization that has excellent competencies in key areas, including customer service, project management, quality assurance problem solving, relationship building and technical skills. This person is an active participant as a member of Credit Union management, including creating and participating in the execution of the annual plan and creating a departmental plan to implement a systems infrastructure to support the annual business plan.
Perform all responsibilities in accordance with BECU Competencies and Information Protection requirements.
Provide leadership and oversight to ensure operational efficiency and integrity for all infrastructure and operations activities 24 x 7 x 365. Ensure process, procedures and guidelines are updated to support the reliability of our systems.
Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring and training of staff to develop and encourage their performance. Meet with staff on a timely basis for the purpose of conducting personnel evaluations and providing feedback.
Ensure all production incidents, problem and changes are properly managed. When required manage a command center for the incident and ensure communications are sent in a timely manner. Ensure system availability is met and provide proactive solutions to root cause.
Develop performance metrics and customer feedback mechanisms in order to measure performances and quality of service.
Prepare and submit budget requests for the annual budget. Forecast and track departmental expenses and document any variances.
Develop and implement a training program for staff which includes technical competence, customer service skills, problem solving skills and relationship building.
Ensure the proper maintenance, administration, security and documentation is maintained at all times.
Perform additional duties as may be assigned.
Bachelor's degree in business, computer science or information systems or equivalent work or educational experience required. Advanced degree preferred.
Minimum 5 years of experience in computer operations, analysis, and problem resolution required.
Minimum 6 years of management experience required.
Excellent analytical and project management skills required.
Excellent leadership skills required.
Excellent planning skills, in both short and long term planning, required.
Proficient verbal and written skills required to effectively communicate in the English language.
Remain informed about developments in the technical and financial services industry.
Ability to move up to 50 pounds with bending and mobility to move large objects required.
Full-time hours required, with additional hours and travel as necessary.
